Troop Bulletin Board
Below is a notice you can send out to all your out-of-town friends and relatives that might be interested in helping out the troop. Modify as you will, but the "ORDER KEY" MUST NOT CHANGE. Try it first yourself so that you understand how it works in case someone has a problem. Once you are on the order portion of the site, click on the "ORDER KEY" tab and verify that the number and your name agrees. That way, you will be assured of getting credit for all orders sent in.
Greeting's from Troop 40, Boy Scouts of America, First Baptist Church of Orlando.
You can help our troop by participating in the popcorn fund raiser. Popcorn sales is the major fund raiser for the troop thru out the year and provide most of our funds. We are chartered by the church but do not receive funds for the operation of the troop. Thanks for your support.
If you love popcorn, do I have a deal for you!

A boy can become a Scout if he has completed the fifth grade, or is 11 years old, or has earned the Arrow of Light Award, but has not reached age 18. If you are interested in joining the Boy Scouts or have questions, please contact Chris Collier or Peter Wells. Better yet! Come to a meeting, meet the scouts and have a great time. At present we have 19 quality scouts and you can be one of them.

Teen Court Volunteer
If any scout would like to have a Bright Future Scholarship they will need 100 hours of volunteer time. Check with your guidance counselor at school for more info on this scholarship. Info on Teen Court is as follows:
The purpose of Teen Court is to divert less serious cases away from the more formal Juvenile Court. The juries in Teen Court are made up of trained high school volunteers, along with defendants who have previously been required to serve jury duty as part of their sentence. All volunteers are trained by members of the local Bar Association and court personnel. In contrast to other courts, Teen Court mandates that all defendants serve as jurors one to four times at future Teen Court cases. Teen Court juries recommend that a defendant perform community service work as part of the sentence, with a minimum of four hours and a maximum of fifty hours. Other sanctions may be recommended, such as counseling, mentor ship, essays, letters of apology and restitution.
Qualifications: Teen Court volunteers must be in grades 8 through 12; must be in satisfactory academic standing; agree to serve 6 months or one year; respect the Oath of Confidentiality; demonstrate maturity and sensitivity; meet the requirements of the Teen Court agreement.
Hours:
Orange County - Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
